When your oil light comes on, or if you have zero oil pressure, you immediately stop and turn off that engine unless you want to destroy it... Lifter Tick would occur fairly rapidly after this kind of incident. With no oil pressure, the oil going to the heads no longer goes to the heads, and the oil will all drain down to the pan. So, it isn't going to be long before low oil pressure (or no oil pressure) translates in to lifter noise. All that aside, the distance you drove with zero oil pressure is pretty important. I'd say if you were coasting home and drove it for a couple minutes, you might be a lucky guy. If the car isn't making any other horrible noises perhaps you are lucky. I'm voting fix the oil pan damage, hope everything else under there is OK - crank the car to check for oil pressure. If you get some, start it up and see how it runs.
